Pure Steam Generator Finn-Aqua®

Finn-Aqua Pure Steam Generator is built around falling film type evaporator that produces pyrogen free pure steam using a unique separation technology. FINN-AQUA´s original patented design is a significant advancement over thermosyphon or boiler type evaporators since it employs a dry distilling method that eliminates carryover of pyrogens and microscopic particulates. This design also eliminates the use of baffles or demisters that are sources of contamination or corrosion. The Finn-Aqua ® Pure Steam Generator’s proven design is quiet, safe, simple and extremely dependable.

Proportional capacity

control (PCC)

  • Provides fast, smooth, continuous operation and avoids repeated cycling (starting and stopping) of the unit, which conserves utilities and provides a consistent pure steam pressure.

  • Automatic control and adjustment of the plant steam and feed water that correspond to the selected user configurable pure steam pressure

  • Pure steam pressure variations do not typically exceed ±5% from the user configured set point in static conditions. Stabilizing time after pure steam demand variations is approximately 30 seconds

  • Due to the Finn-Aqua design a pure steam pressure reducing valve is not required

Continuously

circulating hot feed

water

A unique design concept giving following advantages:

  • Fast response during varying pure steam demand

  • Keeps the circulation water tank, pump and column and all associated components continuously sanitized, even during low steam consumption periods

  • Continuous high velocity flushing of the heat transfer surfaces during operation minimizes the risk of fouling and reduced heat transfer efficiency.

  • Continuous separation of pyrogens and other impurities during normal operation

  • The reject rate is from 0-15% of the produced pure steam with a typical value of 5-8%

  • Continuous gas separation

Three-stage separation

Flash evaporation, 180-degree directional change and centrifugal

separation ensures removal of pyrogen and other impurities

removal without the use of non-sanitary demister pads

Continuous gas

separation

Separation of non-condensable gases from feed water is a standard

feature designed to reduce the content of non-condensable gases

from a maximum of 6 % to less than 3.5 %

Double tube sheet

evaporator

Prevents cross-contamination from lower purity media to higher

purity media

Materials of

construction

All pressure vessels and piping are manufactured from 316L

stainless steel.

Orbital welding

All piping is orbital welded wherever technically possible.

Insulation

Non-corrosive mineral wool with 304 stainless steel sheathing.

Single point power

supply

Requires only one power connection to the unit

Small footprint and

height

Reduced external dimension enables the equipment to be installed

in rooms with limited space

Factory

testing/qualification

Fully tested at factory to specific IC/OC procedures. Factory test

bays designed to simulate customer site conditions.
