Finn-Aqua Multiple Effect Water Still Features

Distillation has long been recognized as the most reliable method to produce pyrogen-free water. This natural liquid-vapor-liquid phase process consistently removes impurities without the use of membranes or filters, which have the potential to foul or degrade over time causing contamination breakthrough. The Finn-Aqua design employs high temperatures, which assures constant pyrogen-free water production

Original Design:

First modern Multiple-Effect Still design. Patented falling film technology used in over 3500 validated units.

Feed water pump and break tank:

Ensures smooth operation of the water still during pressure variations in the feed water line.

Plant Steam Pressure Reducing Valve

Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) installed in the plant steam line is stabilizing the unit operation. The PRV allows also the plant steam pressure to be manually adjusted between 3 – 8 bar if required.

Pure Steam Valve

The unit is equipped with a manual Pure Steam Valve (PSV) to enable simultaneous Pure Steam and distillate production.

Three-stage separation:

Flash evaporation (i.e. an immediate phase change), 180-degree directional change and centrifugal separation ensures removal of pyrogen and other impurities removal without the use of non-sanitary demister pads.

Continuous gas separation:

Separation of non-condensable gases and volatile impurities from feed water in several stages is designed to reduce the content of non-condensable gases in the distillate.

Double tube sheet evaporator design in Column No 1:

Prevents cross-contamination from lower purity media to higher purity media in first column (Double Tube Sheet column).

Materials of construction:

All pressure vessels and tubing are 316L stainless steel.

Orbital welding:

All tubing and components are orbital welded wherever technically possible.

Insulation:

Non-corrosive mineral wool with 304 stainless steel sheathing.

PLC Control:

Siemens PLC control system and Siemens operator interface.

Single point power supply:

Requires only one power connection to the unit.

Compact footprint and height:

Reduced external dimension enables the equipment to be installed in rooms with limited space.

Factory testing/ qualification:

Fully tested at factory according to specific IC/OC procedures.

Easy Maintenance:

Virtually no moving parts and non-proprietary components.
